Saturday soon after starting the 1998 SS for a drive in the nice sunshine I noticed a burning smell and then saw the smoke. Long story short it appears the fire started just to the inboard side and behing the passenger side strut tower. Any damage was contained under hood to include a partialy melted cowl.

Here are my questions, has anyone had anything similar and where did you go for repair? Frankly I'm not sure a dealership can live up to the high expectations I have. The car only has 25k on it and gets driven on weekends and to the occasional show. As many of you are I'm beyond **** about the car. Any repair experiences would be helpful. I'm in the Flower Mound area. Thanks.

I have not seen too many fires from nothing.. some mod??

Cause unknown. no mods in over a year. More concerned with repair at this time
