Default How much boost for 4.8 short block?

A guy i know just blew his motor up in his truck. He has a stock short block 4.8 Regency with arp rod bolts, ported stock heads, blower cam, full fuel system, procharger with 12psi and put down i think it was 480whp. Well i told them why it blew up because it was to much boost and he told me its safe to run that much I have always been informed 5-9psi. He dosnt have alcohol but the kit came with a inter cooler. He has thrown a stock 6.0 in it for now and he is going to build that motor now. I was just wanting to know how much can stock LSX motors handle safely for a DD. They have not yet pulled the heads off the 4.8 they said it was lack of oil pressure for that much power but the pressure gauge was reading good

You are correct, there is a reason why the ProCharger kit for the 4.8/5.3 is listed for 8-9 psi, shown here. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com....html?item=988

12 psi is waay to much boost on the stock bottom end. Bob
