Rocker question
I have available a set of Comp 1.75 ratio rockers and a set of Crane "Gold" Quick Lift rockers. I'm going to use one or the other. My question is which would be more benificial to run? Would I gain more from the extra .017" lift or from the faster acceleration off the seat? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Use the cranes by far. The variable rocker ratio will make you cam act bigger than it really is, faster/quicker acceleration, no needle bearings to fail, lightweight and quiet. the cranes will take a special length pushrods and guideplates to center rocker over valve stem. try to shoot for the full 2 turns when adjusting the cranes. if you need any help, feel free to ask me or vettenuts on this.

Thanks, the Cranes it is! That's what I was leaning towards, but I wanted to check with the experts first. I got the Crane kit with the pushrods and guideplates for a good price ($260) because it was missing the rocker studs. I have some ARP studs for a Vortec that should work (3/8" over 8mm 1.25), but they are .313" longer than the Cranes. The only problem I see is that the adjusting nuts that come with the Crane kit will run down too far on the stud and won't allow the set screw to be installed. The stud actually comes out the top of the nut. Do you see any problem with taking .250"-.300" off the ARP's? Thanks again!
