Best place to get pistons coated, and should ring lands get coated?

Default Best place to get pistons coated, and should ring lands get coated?

Who does Piston coating? Also has anyone ran ring land coating? Any negatives from running a coated piston?

SWAIN TECHNOLOGY. I don't know if there doing ringland coating though, but JE does for sure.

coating the grooves is a bad idea....the piston disapates heat through the rings and you don't want to block that. Sometimes we anodize grooves to keep them from microwelding...but it's too cost-prohibitive for most people.

Dart does all types of coatings, including pistons. They do outstanding work with coatings proven in Pro Stock racing.

We offer piston coating. It is $275 for a set for skirt and dome. The ring ;lands are not coated. We can usually have them turned around in about a week.

Exactly.

Also Many places will do coatings, etc. Polymer-Dynamics (Polydyn) is one of the larger places that will get this out even though lately, the turnaround has been slow as they have been swamped.

I called polydyn after talking with Brian, but I haven't heard back yet. I was told that the coated k398s would not be ready until late March.
