Time to throw some money at it(modifications)
Well I have decided to throw a few bucks at my car this year and have a few questions for the experts.
1. I am planning on buying pacesetter long tube headers and y-pipe and was wondering if it would fit on to the stock SS cat back exhaust. Also does anyone have any experience on how it will sound because I am not looking for much more noise than stock. Also will having the stock cat-back on there just kill the flow?
2. I am planning on doing a lid, Vig 3600 stall, LS6 intake and the exhaust mentioned above and that is going to be all the mod's the car will receive because it is some what a DD. Will a mail order tune get me real close or should I just go with a dyno tune?
3. Well this one is hard to nail down but, were should I be RWHP wise and 1/4 mile times/MPH? Any one running similar setup’s please chime in.

1. your car will be loud as crap! you have to remove the cats on most y-pipes, unless you get the catted one, but it will still be loud. I can almost guarantee that it will kill a lot of power if you leave the stock muffler on, just search some forums and find a quiet muffler that flows well to replace it.
2. I would recommend a real dyno tune, every car is different, and in order to get the best power and MPG, you need someone to work on your car on a dyno.
3. anywhere form 340 to 360 is what most people with LT's get, depends on how well you drive honestly...mid to high 12's will be about where you will be

Ok , Since you say it will be loud and I am going for the sleeper/stock look would you recommend going with one of those cam's that are designed to work with the stock manifolds and exhaust instead of getting the LT and y pipe. I will have the stall and intake to support a smaller cam like under a 224/224 I am thinking.

Well there are ways to make it quiet, just get the y-pipe with cats, and a quiet muffler, i would give you some ideas on the muffler, but i wanted a loud car, so i dont know any good quiet mufflers. (anybody have any ideas?) The only problem is that you have a v8 and v8's arnt quiet. There are many exhaust systems that keep the car relatively quiet until you go WOT. Have you thought about spray? I know a nitrous bottle tucks away nicely in the spare tire compartment, and is the ultimate sleeper weapon, plus our cars love spray. Also I see you have a '99. Get a different intake, definitly get the stall, and have you done all the free mods yet? Make sure you port and polish your TB too

High 12's and around 350rwhp. I have the SLP dual/dual and it is very quiet. I know they don't make it anymore, but I would imagine that you could find one for sale online. Its a great flowing exhaust, just quiet.

Didn't spend too much time readin through this thread but my advice is spend all your money right now on a good stall! keep the rest of it stock,...it'll be a sleeper and wake the car up like none other. Its what I wish I would've done first with my car.

^^ HAHAHAHAHA, but seriously, if you dont want a loud attraction getter then get a y pipe with cats and a nice catback like magnaflow they flow really well and although they arent loud they have an awesome clean sound. Stall wise a 3200-4000 depending on driving habits and such will suffice. Cam's well yes the 224 is a tried and true highly dependable DD cam, but there are bigger cams out there that put out more power and can be tuned for DD. I will be sticking with a Vig 3200 stall and a TR224 cam for my DD.

You could get a coupling that would make it fit, that's not really a huge concern.
I can't speak much on A4's as both my LS1's were M6's, but if those mods are all your going to do I wouldn't even bother with a Vig 3600 stall. That's just me... Or if you do decided to put a stall in it, I surely wouldn't go that big. Seems like a waste to me. Maybe A4 guys can give better insight.
With LT headers, cat back, LS6 intake, and lid (a must) and a tune, I'd be happy to hit 350rwhp. Only one way to find out about the 1/4 and mph.

I think I am just going to go with the stall, LS6 intake some stickey tires and a good tune and call it quits. I want to get a SS hood so I will go that route and also try and find some nice rims.
I have done allot of searching and people say the vig 3600 is a great stall. I want to be able to punch it at 40 mph (2'nd gear 2700 RPM) and have the same kick down as it would when you punch it at 30 (3800 RPM 1'st gear) right now so that is why I am going that big. Right now if you hit it at 40 it goes into 2nd gear and will chug along at 2700 and not get going tell I hit at least 4000.

you should be about 340-360ish. you should be in mid to high 12's as long as you grab decent traction. a mail order tune should do unless you get the cam instead of exhaust, then a dyno tune would be worth the money
