Newbie, have some questions Hey guys, my name is Matt. I just registered because I'm getting a 1987 Firebird Formula today. It's my wife's old car that she sold to her parents and they're moving to Kentucky so they're giving the car back to us.
Problem: It doesn't run. My father-in-law is saying that there's something wrong with piston rod. Whether that's the problem, I don't know because I haven't looked at it yet. We're bringing it back to our house today and I've been thinking about putting in a different motor. I believe it has a 305 sitting in it right now, but would like a 350, or something with some more power.
Another problem: I'm a Honda guy. I know some basics about GM but I have no idea what motor options I have for this Firebird. I love this car and the wife and I plan on redoing a lot of stuff on this to make it a nice car again.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
