Default What Cam Do I Have????

01 C5 LS6. Been trying to figure out what my cam is for some time now. I got some numbers off the cam when swapping valley covers, it has "33:4.1", "33", and "33x". I also found some specs written on a sheet of paper when I got my car in 05 which are just "1.19" and "2.40", but nothing telling me what they are or any other specs. The cam cannot be newer than a 2004(and it may be a Mallett spec cam, and would have been done around 2002-2003), but I can't seem to find more info on it and Mallett can't find any more receipts in their archives than I already have. Can anyone help? Thanks

You may want to post what "your car" is along with any other info that may help narrow down possibilities. Would you like to guess what I have in my hand right now?

Sorry, figured C5 in my screen name would be a clue. It is an 01 C5, stock block I assume. Mallett put in their 24-2700 stall and 3.42 rear when they did the trans, but I am not sure if they did the cam or not. They were in a transition period in 03-04 then and not everything made it to their archives.

I don't really have any other info, just the numbers and the approximate build date. I was hoping someone knew the markings on the cam who could point me to a manufacturer who I could contact to get the complete spec sheet.

Most cam grinders will stencil/etch a part number on the back end of the cam. If there are no numbers there my guess would be a GM cam, such as LS6, ASA, or the Hot Cam. The best way to tell what it is would be to bring the cam to a shop with a Cam Doctor to have it measured.

Well it is currently in the car, and it will be staying there unless I find I can gain a lot for sure by swapping(I was at 400RWHP with the other bolt ons, before my ported Fast 90/Shaner ported TB). I only saw the machined numbers on it when I was converting to the new 2004 spec PCV system and had the valley cover off. I was hoping the numbers meant something to give a better idea of where I am now so I would know what gains by the newer cams could offer.
