Flowmaster or Not
I have a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado Extended Cab Z71 with a 5.3 V8.
I just put on true duals with 2.25 inch piping with two flowmaster 40 series mufflers. But it sounds like ****. Very quiet and raspy. My V6 with the same exhaust was louder.
I want the loudest and deepest exhaust I can get What should i do?

steve you might should get some kind of offroad pipe with no cats or high flow cats.Is it dumped or do u have tips out the back-its probably going to be raspy with true duals.

Re: Flowmaster or Not
it might also be those 40 series muffs-you might want to think about replacing them with something different-I used to have a 2001 silverado ext cab with flowmaster 2 chamber dumped and it roared-i know have a 2002 z28 MTI car runs low 11's-so im happy!!Be more than glad to assist you though!!

Re: Flowmaster or Not
Wow, thats wierd. Usually dual Flowmaster "40's" sound great. Especially on a V8 truck. Are you sure they didn't put some generic brand on there?
