Default Rear End leak...

My differential cover is leaking. Is there anything special i should do to it to prevent this in the future? Also is there any special tightening pattern for the bolts? its not a lot but it does concern me, last thing i was is to burn up my dana.

Ive cleaned the matting surface, scrapped free of gasket. Ive often used a scotch brite pad, WD-40, then Brake cleen and a paper towel to get to perfect. Then Black RTV if a leak is persistant.

On my rear (moser 12 bolt) we used Moser's gasket with great results.

As for pattern a "Star" or Criss-Cross pattern will be best.
