Default Edelbrock Aluminum Intake...

Anyone ever get oil leaking up thru the 2 centerbolts on both sides in a small block 350 on the intake manifold? Its an Edelbrock Aluminum Perfromer RPM intake. I put some RTV Black on the center bolts because I've had it happen before. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how they fixed it.

Well, I think its just because its aluminum. It just pools up, and its not like it sprays out, its a really really slow leak. My dad has the same intake too, his does it as well. He also said that his friends does it. I think its just because of the aluminum. Expands a bit, allows a little bit of oil up.

One of my older aluminum intakes did that. A little sealant on the threads and cleaned right up.

You should put thread sealant on all of the intake bolts to keep oil from wicking up the threads.
