LS1 Mini Cooper gets new brakes (pics)
The car barely stopped with the old 6, so it was time to upgrade from the '73 Opel GT brakes that were on the car. The old rotors were non-vented, the old calipers were two piston, with TINY pads.
It took some research to figure out how I could fit a better setup inside of 13" wheels, but I think they came out good. Rotors are off of a '93 Prelude and I had to bore them out to fit the Opel Hubs. Had to turn down the Opel hubs to fit a locating spacer. Everything runs out less than .0005" (I know I'm nuts). Then had to cut off the stock spindles, make new brackets and weld them on. But it came out nice (I think).

Having owned an Opel GT I have a hard time imagining what kind of tiny brakes the GT brakes would have been considered an upgrade on!
Mmm, that's a car I would love to stick an LS1 into someday
