Default Anyone had their factory speedlines polished?

Hey all- wondering if you have had your speedlines professionally polished. I had my new car next to my old one- 2001 vs 98, and the 98 WS6 wheels are so much shinier. I was told it was because the speedlines have a huge protective coating on them. They look so much darker and duller than the 98s do. Here in Vegas, there are places that will polish them for approx $75 apiece. Thanks.

I'd just do them myself dude. set aside a weekend and go buy yourself some aircraft remover, latex gloves, a few paint brushes, a mothers powerball and some metal polish of your choice. tape off your tires real good and paint on the remover and let it set for however long the can says to. then rinse it off real good and make sure all the clearcoat is gone. then you should have a good bare metal surface to hit with polish. if theres any deeper scratches you could maybe spot sand with some 800 grit followed by 1000, 1500, and then 2000 and hit it with polish. you might search this topic, i know some people have done this and gotten some chrome-like results. hope i helped!

Thanks! When I originally looked at that thread, there was noone with the speedlines yet. Looks like some people have tried it with theirs.
