Quick question on drag radials?
I picked up some new wheels and plan on mounting drag radials on the rear 17x10's. I'm trying to choose between the Nitto's, BFG's, or MT ET Street Radials, all which come in 275/40/17.
The Nittos are on special for only $140 a tire, but I'm worried that they might not be able to hook from a dig or a low mph punch? I know the MT's will hook, as I'm running the 255/50/16's ET radials right now. But I'm adding another 75-100ft/lb of torque soon, so I'd feel better with some wider meat.
Anyone with the Nittos having problems hooking with 400+ft/lb? Should I step up to the MT's to play it safe? Or will the BFG's give me what I want? There's very little price difference between the BFG's and MT's, but the BFG's might feel a little better when going fast around the corners.
I've got my finger ready to click on a set of MT's, I just wanted to get some feedback before I did anything. Thanks guys.
