Wet Brakes NFG Put new pads (nothing special) on the rear end and now when it rains (which it does all the time in Seattle) I have zero stopping power. Thinking that I should have spent more money on pads and that they are soaking up water. Anyone have experience using PFC carbon metallic pads? Do they eat up the rotors or not that bad?

I've never heard of brake pads "soaking up water". However, my '96 Z-28 has never had what I call great brakes, especially considering the speed capability of the car.
I'm using a street compound of Porterfield Racing pads, and I'm fairly well satisfied with them. If you have that much trouble in the rain, I'd suggest slotted rotors, as they give the water an escape path.
