Default Weight Reduction Question

I was reading a thread earlier this winter and someone said that you could eliminate the big honeycomb looking piece that mounts on the front (the thing that the fog lights mount to). Has anybody done this?

I guess the correct name for this part is the energy absorber.

yes you can get rid of it if you want with no problems but you'll wish you hadnt if you get into a front end collision. There is also one on your rear bumper to that can be removed.

I just did it, but my car is only driven on rare ocasions. I wouldn't even consider it on a daily driver.

You'll probably be fine then.
But understand that almost every Fbody wreck involves the front end being damaged.
Call a scrapyard and ask for a front bumper some time ... see how hard they laugh.
(Ask me how I know )

Yea, I built this car just for the strip. Besides, if I get in a wreck with it I'll make sure to hit something hard enough that I don't have to limp away from the scene! LOL
