Default Gutted Cat

Would there be any downfalls to gutting the cat on my 95?

Other than annoying raspy exhaust sound, nasty smell and potential fines ... no not really.
Oh, and the trail of hipping bitching about it.

But seriously, I suggest a high-flow cat (Magnaflow makes nice small ones), it'll flow just as well and you can eliminate the above-mentioned issues.
A lot of guys eliminate them alltogether as part of a LongTube install. That at least eliminates the rasp.

NO, don't do it, your going to cause more smog.......

J/K
Cut them out, use small glasspacks in their place. Now it looks like you have cats, and you have eliminated some of the raspyness.

I just gutted mine over the weekend, and there is no problem... you don't have OBD2, so it won't freak out. I aggree with the glass packs.
