Default How to stop rust?

well this week i am off and want to get down and dirty and clean every bit of my car, today im gonna sand and paint inside of my fenderwells cuz it is starting to rust in there. rust pisses me off. how do you guys deal with it? there is alot of rust underneath my car and i want the car to last some more years so how do i stop it? can you get just your underbody of your car repainted? or maybe ill get it up on a lift and spray paint the whole underbody black or somthing to stop the rust. i dont know.... throw some ideas out there.......

on my v6 i got under there with a bunch of sanding discs and some wire wheels went to town all day then used some degreaser/cleaner to clean everything up and sprayed over with some regular rustoleum black, year and a half later, michigan spring summer AND salty winter, didn't have even a hint of rust. I plan on doing the same thing to my Z soon.
