What shim thickness under th400 using t56 crossmember?
How are you guys determining what size shim you need under your tranny mount? Right now I don't have any shim in between and all of my angles don't seem to be off by much. I have checked the angle of the engine/trans by measuring off the front of the passenger side head. Then measuring the ds angle. Then lastly the angle of the rearend using the bottom mounting plate on my adjustable torque arm. Right now I get 6 degrees motor/ trans., 4.5 degrees ds, and 4.5 degrees on the rearend. Should I just continue to raise the tail of the trans until the angle of the engine/ tranny is even w/ the driveshaft? And then set my pinion angle to the rearend? Or is there a more accurate way to determine the shim size?

from my faq at the top of the page
"Th400 with 4in tail will bolt right on to the T-56 crossmember. Use some washers or a 1X1 piece of square tube as a shim to raise the tail to the proper level.
The T-56 x-member will work with most applications with some modification."
