Beech Bend, KY Race Trip
Well DBN my wife and I went to Beach Bend on Saturday and had a great time.
He ran 10.000 at 134 + MPH NA in his C5 and I ran a best of 10.75 at 123.59 MPH NA. This was our first 1/4 mile trip of the year. The last 1/4 mile trip in 2007 was at Jackson, SC the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I ran 10.75 with a 1.41 sixty foot in Jackson at the house of hook, I did not expect to run that at Beach Bend.
I made 6 runs 3 right lane and 3 left lane, I started with a 10.85 first pass in the left lane shifted early on both shifts since it was the first pass and ended with a 10.80 left lane on the last run. We started at 12:21 PM and ended at 3:34 PM, my 10.75 pass was at 1:20 PM in the right lane. On that run I had a sixty foot of 1.445 with a 1/8 mile time of 6.78 at 99.74 MPH. This was on a round robin pass, I picked up my ticket from my 10.80 run at 123.25 MPH in the right lane at 1:14 PM and went right back to the staging lanes. The car was faster on both round robin runs that I did. The bottom line it was hard keeping the car warm enough.
All runs were made with a new set of 26X10X15 ET Drag Stiff with MT tubes. The one thing I noticed was the car was getting more air then it did with the regular 26X10X15 ET Drags.
On the last run it left hard on the footbrake at 3,000 RPM resulting in a 1.455 sixty foot it seemed to take forever for it to come down.
On the downside at the end of that run on the way down the return lane I noticed it was making a strange noise. When I got back to the pits to put the car in the trailer and opened the hood and guess what I found the EGR tube was gone off of my Jet Hot driver side header. This ended the day on a sour note, not good a hole the size of a nickel in the header.
Anyway I had a great time! If anyone might have took a photo at the line on that last run I would love to see it!

Yes. When you click on the picture of us that he posted, it will send you to another screen. In the upper left corner under the title, there is a box that says full screen. Click on it and you should see the video begin. Call me if you can't make if work. It was cool to see that video, huh?

Well changes are on the way as far as headers go! New ones are on the way.
judging interest in a set of Jet Hot Headers which are Hooker Headers coated and a Hooker Y-pipe coated and a Hooker cat back that has had special tailpipes made for the muffler that hide up under a Z-28 or Firebird/Formula so you do not see ugly tailpipes coming out the back and hanging down. The intermediate pipe has a bug for wideband and a bug for dyno testing as well. I have one person that is going to look at the system for his T/A, but if anyone is interested let me know. I should know by Saturday if he wants it if not I will post all of it up for sale! The entire system is located in E. TN. and will be local pick up only!
