wastegate spring ?!?

Default wastegate spring ?!?

ok i have a external wastegate thats got a 10lb spring in it and was wondering if i could just take the spring out and trim or cut a partial coil off it to lower the rating on it.anybody tried something like this?just an idea

You can cut the spring to lower your psi I did it on a bov so it would open under vaccum same concept.

Your better off buying the correct spring I would think. They are cheap. If you cut a coil off you still have the same spring rate, just a shorter spring.
