Question master cylinder swap issue

im helping a buddy put his car back together. (98 formula)

does a 01-02 master come with the bolts attached to the flange that fits up against the firewall? or are they separate bolts that he lost? also it looks like the master may be in upside down because the fitting where the braided line leaves the master is pointing up. its hard to tell because i can't see the damn thing and the rod is already attached to the pedal. when you let up the clutch pedal it seems to fit up against the firewall just fine..

The 01-02 master that I just bought didn't have the bolts, so I would think that there aren't any that come with the kit. The factory bolt is more like square u-bolt. It does sound like he has the master in backwards as well.

thanks for the reply. could you shed a little more light on what the factory bolt looks like. are you saying there is supposed to be a separate u bolt?
