Default lq4 mated to a t56

im getting a 2000 lq4 (iron head version) and want to put a t56 behind it. what year t56's will work? will everything just bolt up or will i need anything, i heard the cranks are longer on these motors?- any spacers, or will it just bolt up?

thanks, Gary

Gary your gonna have to find a later model crank from a 6.0, 2001 and up keep an eye out in the sister truck forum they have them occ. in the classifieds.Find an LS1 flywheel, get a 98-02 Camaro or a GTO t56 and your set. BTW what ya gonna put it in? I did this swap in my daily driver and I love it.

Probably wouldnt hurt to go ahead and have them balanced to be on the safe side. I would also throw in some ARP rod bolts, flywheel, and pressure-plate bolts.Cheap insurance.

if its a factory crank i wouldnt worry about balancing it, aftermarket cranks are typically way differant weight and need to be balanced to your rotating ***, but a stock crank with stock pistons should be good to go. but definatley splurge for the rod bolts.
