Head studs?
Ok, this is not your normal head stud question. I'm building an LS6 blocked 346 with afr 225cc heads shooting for 1100+whp with a gt4788 at 25+ PSI. I'm not real confident in the heads not lifting and an LSX block is out of the budget right now being that I already have everything but the main girdle and hardware for the long block.
Does anyone know the correct length head studs for the LS1/6 that uses all the same length studs? Is it possible to upgrade from the 7/16" to maybe 1/2" or 9/16". I get a pretty good price on machine work around here so I don't think this is out of the question. I realize both the block and heads as well as the gaskets will need to be modified.

1/2 is the largest you can go with an aluminum block. 9/16's require iorn blocks, are crazy big and requires alot of machining and a custom and very expensive TQ plate for the proper block machining.
Why not use l19 material from ARP, it is suppose to have the clamping force of a 1/2 stud with keep the stock 7/16 design. If you have the $$$ you can contact A1 fasteners and the have materials that will hold 140lb/ft torque in a 7/16 stud but they will be expensive.
