Output shaft bushing??
Hey guys, need a little help......I have had a vibration that happens from 70+, so I had alignment, tires balanced, tranny/engine mounts good, u joints good, and finally just got the driveshaft balanced. On the front end of the shaft, there was .004 runout. So then I just installed the balanced driveshaft, and
I'm still getting a little vibration at 70+.
Now I did drive for a longtime with a unbalanced driveshaft, with that being the case, I probably did more damage somewhere else, right? Do you think I should now look at the output shaft bushing? Is it hard to replace? Just pop off the extension housing of the tranny?

Get the car on a lift or up in the air and put some weight back on the axle. Grab the yoke and see how much movement you have up and down. I had a bushing that was allowing .120 of up and down movement of the yoke, measured at the u-joint caps. It was probably .040-.050 at the trans seal. I had some vibration from that.

YEP, that was it, I just replaced the rear bushing in the extension housing, and the vibration is gone! I'm so happy, now I can enjoy my car on the highway, again! Thanks, for the help....

I have a nasty vibration at 74 mph up to 90, then seems to get a little better up towards a buck ten. My yoke has a 22 to 25 thousandths runout measured by a dial indicator at the ujoint.. Is this my problem?
I have double checked the pinion angle, rebalanced the driveshaft, balanced the tires. Man I cant find where this vibration is comming from and I do have this slop at the yoke. I JUST REBUILT the tranny, I only have 350 miles on the rebuild... and I did go ahead and do the viper mainshaft conversion...
