Default Shifter stuck in park - no tranny installed

Motor and transmission are out of the car and I'm about to pull the center console... slight problem, the shifter won't come out of park (even with the brake applied). Anyone know a trick to getting the damn shifter to move?

Thanks

Take the console lid off or at least up as far as you can and disconnect the lock out.

I'm assuming you put the key in the ignition and turned it forward right?

Two things lock it out, the brake lock out and the key switch.
The brake lockout shouldn't do anything with no battery power so you should be able to turn the key and move the shifter.

You know the feeling where you're looking for something for a while and then you find it in your hand? That's how dumb I feel right now.

No, I didn't have the keys in the ignition. Haha. Why would I need the keys for a car with no motor/battery/transmission. Doh! Thanks
