I don't know about the heads but that cam would like a bigger stall, maybe a 4400.

its just a huge duration, the lift isnt that killer. I think youll be fine with that stall, allthough yes a 4400 would help. Anyway i would suggest upgrading the rod bolts if the motos isnt in the car.... Id leave in the cam, one day youll want heads, and that cam
would make for a killer setup.

what does the lift have to do with how much stall a cam needs? the stall is basically determined by overlap. the more overlap the larger stall needed...

that cam won't perform well unless you are prepared to flycut as aforementioned, and get a stall with +1000 rpm stalling capability.

look for a low-mid 230s duration cam

I was saying the lift isnt killer, not for the stall but because its not as huge of a cam as the durations make it look like. If it was like a .630/.630 or more then id say it was too big a cam probably.

That kinda looks like a Ed Curtis cam, similar to like a Helion cam

There is no way that cam will fit under 5,3L heads, unless they are stock, and that would've been a serious mismatch.

Your best bet for perfomance is a 230 range cam on a tight LSA or like a TSP TV3 (231/234 111 LSA) or a custom TV2 like 232/234 111 LSA, or my grind, 230/230, .612/.592 111+2 LSA

Hi PREDATOR-Z,

From Ed Curtis website:

"HELLION" Camshaft
Specs: 243*-247*-112*-.629"-.629"

The OP camshaft seems to have very different lobes thus different diagram...

Yeah, I know, I was saying, looked like his style, but I could be mistaken, I didn't mean it was a Hellion.

excuse me.. no offense but i love when people speak up who obviously don;t know.. i had that cam and a set of patriot 5.3's with 10/1000ths removed and ran it just fine.. it made killer power on the stock shortblock.. at one point holding the record for stock bottomend horse power till rob raymer took it.. 698/742 on a 275-300 hit.. i would run the cam.. your getting the same response i got when i asked about the cam.. i ran it and proved people wrong..

that cam loves spray.. and served me great for many years.. on mismatched 5.3's

Mike
