Default oil cooler before turbo

ok i have a spare trans cooler ,the stacked plate kind, laying around and am planning on putting this on my oil feed line to my turbo. I am thinking this cooler oil will help the internals of the turbo stay alot cooler prolonging the life of the bearings. has anybody tried this?I plan to run the cooler to in front of the radiator using some stainless hardline with fittings.

IMO, If you already have a good engine oil cooler you shouldn't need a separate one.

do not use a transmission cooler for a oil cooler unless it is specified by the manufacturer to do so.

most trans. coolers have smaller passage ways and that would possibly be a restriction for oil (aka. oil starvation). please double check before you ruin a motor from lack of oil!

there is alot of talk on the turbobuick.com board about what trans. cooler is o.k. to use for oil coolers

He is planning on just using it only for the turbo oil feed line, so flow will be fine.
Good point though if used for a primary engine oil cooler.
