The main purpose for a sealer is to change the color so it takes less coats of paint to acheive proper hiding of the undercoat (primer). Just sand it with 600 and start spraying your base then clear it. No sence wasting money on sealer and all activators and reducers needed to use it if you're only gonna use it one.

Yeah, as long as you 2K the whole thing you should be fine. You only need to color sand if you get junk or imperfections in it, if it's metallic I wouldn't color sand it at all, just a light wipe of the tack rag after it sets up, right before the clear.

absolutely not, you cant do anything to the basecoat before clearing. if you want to knock down dirt nibs in the base before you clear you can wet sand the base with 800 or 1000 then spray a med. to dry coat of base over it that wont attract the dirt then clear over that. dont get confused with wet sanding clear versus wet sanding base coat. 2 totaly different reasons and results

I've sanded base plenty of times, before I learned to chase a run off a panel it used to come in handy. Yes you will have to dust it afterwards..
