I would go with an aluminum block engine...no doubt. My reasons for this are as follows:
1) The lighter the car is, the more efficiently the tires will work.
2) My car has an LS3 427 (aluminum block) and the entire front clip is carbon fiber, no PS, no A/C and I still have a 50/50 weight distribution. Therefore, I would be really surprised if you are not front heavy using an LQ9.
