Default my 2002 z stopped while driving!

i was on the busy downtown area of san francisco and my car slowly died while i was driving. first, i thought it was the battery, so i charged it and it didnt work. So i got it towed to a local shop and they performed a compression test and they said i blew my number 1 piston and said that i needed to get a new motor. I only have 58k on the motor. Should I just get a new rebuilt? and/or get another opinion?

I would pop the valve cover to look for anything wrong with the valve train on #1. Maybe a broken spring or something keeping a valve open would cause the compression test to fail. I'm trying to be optimistic.
