LS1 16pin OBDII dataport pinout
Anyone know the exact pinout for the 16pin OBDII female connector? Maybe a website with a clear discription of the pins? I've modified my harness to work with my RX-7 and are adding the female 16pin OBDII connector. I need to be able to interface with LS1edit and Autotap.
I found this site.
http://home.earthlink.net/~lyttlec/reports/PhaseI.html
Here's the pinout they list.
PIN DESCRIPTION PIN DESCRIPTION
1 Vendor Option
2 J1850 Bus +
3 Vendor Option
4 Chassis Ground
5 Signal Ground
6 CAN (J-2234) High
7 ISO 9141-2 K-Line
8 Vendor Option
9 Vendor Option
10 j1850 BUS
12 Vendor Option
11 Vendor Option
13 Vendor Option
14 CAN (J-2234) Low
15 ISO 9141-2 Low
16 Battery Power
J1850 VPW - GM, TOYOTA, LEXUS, ISUZU - Pins 2, 4, 5, 16
So basically I only need pins 2, 4, 5, and 16.
2 - serial data output ???
4 - chassis ground
5 - serial data output ???
16 - constant 12 volts
What goes to pins 2 and 5? I know one gets the serial data output. What goes to the other pin?

Re: LS1 16pin OBDII dataport pinout
so there are two grounds?
2 is the data from the PCM (blue 58 is correct)
4 chassis ground
5 engine ground (PCM ground)
16 switched 12v.
