The Guy in MY 99TA

I think I have lost my HPPIII and I am ordering LS1 Edit next week! Of my knowledge doesn't the HPPIII lock the ecm? I have the shift points raised, the fans on, the speed limiter on 255 and the rev limiter on 6600. So will I be able to tune my car or is it going to be locked and will I still be able to go back to a stock tune if I wish?

I dont remember if an HPP3 locks the PCM but I have read some PCMs that had hypertech programming, worst case just have your PCM flashed back to stock at a dealer. I would probably want to do it to get rid of all the hpp3 stuff anyhow. Some dealers try to get 100.00 to flash a PCM but they do it for 30-40.00 at a couple dealers here..

Naturally if you reflashed and did find the hpp3 you couldnt 'unprogram' your car and sell the hpp3..
