Rearend just broke

Rearend just broke Am in joliet IL just changed to oil Getting on I 80 1st gear gun it 
BOOM from behind turn around put it in 4th @45mph and gun it loud grinding noise for behind and from trans go to the place i changed the oil the just closed the go 1 mile up and park it at my brothers house call triple a 2hours wait for tow truck then he can not tow it cause the car is two low get in car drive 2miles down the road chevy dealer they are just locking up shop talked to a tech said 80% it is the rear saturday i was going to install a nos 5177 kit but now need to save for 12 bolt 
the car is 2002 ss m6 345hp bone stock and tires with 14k on the clock just a fair warning TO NOT mess around on Concrete

Re: Rearend just broke should still be warranty...go to a dealership and play dumb...as long as its still stock they will usually fix it for free.... just make sure to say you dont know what happened....just make like you were driving like normal and all of the sudden something started making a racket in the rear....
