Default Track prep?

Tonight I went out to the track and the best run of the night was a 12.34 @ 110mph 60' 1.78. That was my second run of 12. I thought by the end of the night it would get better to maybe a 12.1 or so. The last run was 12.9 60'1.95. There were alot of ricers out there on street tires. They showed up around 8:30. Do street tires mess the track up that bad? By the end of the night I couldn't even hook with my MT drag radial at 12lbs of air pressure. I just wanted to know if you guys ever had this problem. Like I said the beginning of the night I would hook and just needed practice launching, but would always hook. I was pissed by the end of the night because the tires would just spin even with a great burn out.

DA was +2133

Yes street tires can screw with the track. I used to work at a track and we had a street night with a bunch of ricers. By the end of the night you could walk on the launch pad and there was no stick(VHT) at all. Plus they tear up the rubber too. We always ended up scraping the rubber crap off, and re drag it to put more rubber down, the track again after they were there because it was just horrible.
