Thinkin about a new camshaft
My current camshaft is the (probably outdated by now) 216/220 Comp Cam. My heads have some mild port/bowl work with LS6 valve springs. The car is an A4 with a ST3500 and a 3:73 geared 12 bolt. I run ET streets. Would it be worth any gains to put another cam in there and still using the LS6 springs or would I need more spring for more cam than I already have? Dyno numbers dont mean much to me, I just want solid mid-low 11's around 115+mph. See the car needs to be tuned so I was thinkin maybe somethin new has come out in camshaftland that may be worth havin. Thanks and stuff.

To get the best available gain, I think upgrading the springs to handle a bigger cam would be worth it if you going to d a cam change.
Does the car have all the bolt on stuff?
XE 222/222 C1/Hammer/Andy cam might work pretty well or XE 224/224 and of course the TR224 or MMS224.

Re: Thinkin about a new camshaft
Thats a great mph for a little 216/220 camshaft! I ran that cam in my silverado & it definately idles nice! I agree with these guys about getting new springs if you want to upgrade camshafts.
We sell a 228/228 588 588 cam that idles pretty choppy, but I think is very streetable.
E-mail me if I can help you.
