Question Help: Control Stick for cruise control, brights, etc.

Does anyone have any experience with troubleshooting and/or changing this control stick?

My cruise control buttons do absolutely nothing, and the brights (hi-beams) will not turn on. There is not even a "click" when pulling back on the control stick. However, the wipers seem to work just fine.

Are there any other parts of the system that should be tested before saying "yep, replace the control stick"?

Never done one of these but most are just disconnect, push in on the stalk and turn. Comes right out.

Has anyone replaced theirs for similar malfunctions?

Are there any good troubleshooting steps to make sure this will fix the problem(s)?

A faulty turn signal lever could cause the cruise control problem but would have nothing to do with the highbeams unless it was physically broken. The highbeam switch isn't in the turn signal lever - it's in the steering column - the lever just moves the switch.

The lever is easy to remove. Slide off the small plastic cover on top of the opening, remove the screw, pull out the lever, and disconnect the wires.
