why did my fuel trims go down to -8 or more after gettin gas

i went to get gas and my fuel trims were from -14 to -8, before that they were at like 1 to 4 and when i did a wide open run right after that they were 0 to 1, can someone explain to me please why and how this happened?

Our cars pcm resets itself everytime you fillup the gas tank.

What happens if the fuel tank is on completely empty. I am running a cell and my normal guage shows empty all the time. Do you guys know what tables it effects.
