Welding the Block off plate on Mainfold

Welding the Block off plate on Mainfold Does anyone just weld these block offplates on the manifold after deleting the AIR? I broke off a bolt where the block off plate goes and am having trouble removing it, so thinking of just welding the block off plate on it.

I suppose you could but to do it properly you would have to take the manifold off and preheat it first. But if you were going to do that you might as well throw headers on.
