Default Please help...mysterious leak in my LS1

hello everyone... well while chaning my KN oil filter I was looking underneath the car at the metal rod that connects the steering to the driver's side front tire...anyway, that metal rod has attached to it a black, soft accordion like thing. it appeared to have brownish/gold fluid leaking from it.
does anyone know what I am talking about and if so, is the leak from that accordion looking thing or from somewhere else?

it's a 1998 z28 used, with 41,878 miles. no engine mods..just flowermaster exhaust, ss-type hood, stb, sfcs

thank you

...sounds/looks like it could be power steering fluid... check you reservor level and see if it smells (looks like) the same as the oil dripping from the tie rod.

... burned oil and a leak is not a good sign...

I replaced my pump recently ...a recurring problem on GM rolling iron.....

You may have a torn cover boot on the steering rack, or your powersteering pump is right above the drivers side also, it may be leaking????
