Default LS6 take off heads or TSP 2.5 heads

Got a 224R on a 112 pure street car. Looking to get to 400 at the wheels what would you pick. I am on a budget so im looking for the best bang for the buck.

I would pick ls6 heads but im wondering how much im leaving on the table compaired to the TSP 2.5 heads

I voted for the TSPs, they have smaller chambers for more compression, they will be brand new, ported, shorter runners will give you more torque, I think these heads would be a better choice.

However...I dont thing you will have a problem hitting 400 rwhp with the LS6s untouched either, if you have longtubes and an LS6 intake with a good tune in an M6 I think you will be right where you want to be.

I'd go with PRC LS6 Stage 1.0 heads, they advertise 50RWHP over stock heads

You'd be leaving 25-30RWHP on the table by running stock unported LS6' and by the time you buy dual springs $250-275 your only 200-400 away from another 25-30 RWHP

and I have some for sale for CHEAP!!!!!

I would go with the TSP 2.5 heads for the bang for the buck factor.

I'd say just go with the LS6 heads if you already have the springs to put in them. Those stock 243s perform great on mild cam setups from what I've seen.

I agree the LS6 heads should do the job. If your on a budget I would do a little bowl work and run them.

One more thing. With a small cam like that, you should be able to mill the 243s. There's guys on here that are much more knowledgeable than I when it comes to milling and determining what compression works best with what combo, so I'll just leave it at that. Just another thing to consider.

PRC stg 2.5 for sure get it milled and you'll see 30rwph+ gains.

i have done tons and tons of research, following different combos between these two heads and honestly I can't see the reason to get the PRC's. You can get a pair of 243's BRAND NEW from patriot for $665 with DOUBLE VALVE SPRINGS. Then have Patrick G spec you a custom cam, most likely it would be like Ryan L's (search for his thread, he made 432 rwhp and 399 rwtq with a 224/230 113 XFI cam, he didn't even have full bolt ons!! to back it up a C6 auto made the same power and backed it with consistent 11.2's @ 120mph) I have just found that with the right came shaft the stock 243's are very impressive, and CHEAP!!

I might be a little late to respond, but the numbers in my sig include full exhaust, cold-air 'intake', and an UD pulley. I usually tend to not mention the small mods, but I thought I'd just point it out for the sake of argument. 243s can't be beat for the money and are matched well with the 224/230 XFI cam you mentioned. Stock 243s don't gain much flow over .600 lift, so the ~.600 lifts of the XFI lobes made the most sense since it seemed to be the most efficient daily driver cam paired with these heads. I'm sure a ported FAST would yield 20-25rwhp more, but I would have to look into new injectors and a better clutch at that point, not to mention another tune. I'm content for now and think I found a nice balanced, 'budget' set up.
