Default Dyno with hood up or down?

On the dyno, my hp stays the same with up or down but with my tq, it goes from 370 with my hood up down to 348 with it down. Is this typical? And how does everyone dyno, up or down?

Was that on a consecutive pull? How many pulls did you do with the hood down?

Did two pulls with it down, then two with it up. Never shut the car off.

The first two pulls were with the hood open on the dyno today. Ambient temps in the shop were 96 degree's and IAT readings of around the same with the hood up. Closed the hood on the third pull and saw intake temps of 145 degree's with the same ambient shop temp. Obviously there was some timing being pulled due to the increased air temps and torque took a hit because of it. No big suprise.

I have an open air filter, not a lid.

Well that pretty much explains it. Much higher IAT's and pulled timing killed your numbers bro. That's probably why all of our cars feel like a shot of N2o has been added to them when we go for a drive on a cool/cold morning. These motors feel so much stronger with IAT's in the 30's or 40's then in the 90's or in your case 145*'s
