Camaro rear bumper

Camaro rear bumper Does anyone know if any 4th gen Camaro's came with steel bumper supports inside of the covers? Mine is plastic (at least as much as I can see), and I was hoping to find a steel OR aluminum one to replace it so I can weld to it.
If none came that way from GM, I guess I'll have to make one. I know it'll be heavier, I don't really care about the weight difference.

No, They're are just clips on the bottom, screws on the corners of the quarter panel, and i believe nuts on the inside trunk area, but underneath the bumper, there is a steel reinforcement. It doesent support the bumper, but in case of an accident it will impact the hit and stop the car from going through.
