Default Chassis Torque Arm Question...

Did a search and wasn't really satisfied with what I found, so I thought I'd try my hand and maybe some other's on here are wondering the same thing as I am.

With my stimulus check on the way I'm looking at finishing up my suspension and I'm wondering what everyone's feedback is on chassis mounted torque arms (torque arms mounted with a crossbrace welded to the subframe connectors)? Worth the change from a factory length tailshaft mounted torque arm? How much did you pay to have it welded and mounted? Did it make a significant improvement in your 60 ft times? My car already makes noises and clunks and what have you driving around, so comfort is second to performance. Just need some feedback before I pull the trigger once I deposit the check. Thanks!
