Default Idle help

What can I do to make the switch from park/neutral to drive at idle, smoother. What I mean is when I swith or even turn the A/C on my RPM's drip to like 400 then bounce back up, has a second of surge and then will idle fine. It happens every time. Any suggestions?

Default Re: Idle help

Basic idle tuning will give you what you are looking for.

Try a higher RPM setting
Try a higher RPM setting for the A/C (separate part of the idle table)
Try increasing your idle air and idle air in gear tables slightly.

This is perhaps one of the hardest things to do on an automatic with a tight stall. Try a TH400 and a *tight* converter...it is a pain. It takes a while to find the proper IAC / Decay / RPM combination, but its out there.
