Default Advice to remove paint.

My brother is in the process of restoring his camaro, but the paint is simply not coming off. This car must have been repainted so many times..

I was wondering if there was any better way to remove it other than sanding, and that acidic aircraft remover ****.

you could have it blasted, what grit sandpaper are you using and what tool(s)? there are also air powered strippers (insert joke here) that work pretty well with wire wheel on them..

I don't believe that there are so many paint jobs that the stripper won't work. Make sure you are using paint stripper from an autobody supply store......home depot and auto parts stores carry the lower grade of Aircraft remover.

There is a stripper called Capt. Lees thats practically odor free.clear like water and won't damage plastic, fiberglass, or chrome. Works really well.I've been using it for almost 20 years. You have to order it online.Just do a search.

I have also used the Capt. Lee's and it is a very good product. Just make sure you get all of the stripper residue off or it will cause you problems with the new paint job.
