Default Best hooking tire on the street

Planning on buying a set of 325/60 M/T DR's because I cant afford another set of wheels right now, but I'm wondering whats a good hooking street tire, roughly the same size.

If it were the M/T's it'd suit well...

M/T's are by far the best hooking tire on the street!!

M/T= hook badass even w/ little to no rubber.
Nitto's = decent to mediocre, but have great tread life
M&H= expensive, don't hook as well as the M/T
BFG= crap

I don't think so......I never could hook with M/T......Nittos were fine....BFG is by far the better of the 3......Hard to say the best without someone being favorable towards a certain brand...

This seems to be the same as I've been hearing. Some say BFG, some say their M/T's are great, others say theirs are poop.

I wonder if it has something to do with the state you live in, and type of asphalt.

i wouldnt run M/T since i would drive my car daily, so i guess it would be a toss up between BFG's or NITTO?

M/T 28x12.5-15 ET Streets with VHT should do you well on the street.

Is there some portable VHT I can hop out of my car and spray the tires or the road?

I'm leaning towards the radials, stickier, a bit of tread, and stiffer sidewall, I'm auto.
Probably 325/50/15

Yes, I use the stuff here we sell at work, usually pour a little in a cup and just lay it out infront of the tires, pull into it, do the burnout and roll the car out straight, back up in the tracks, and its good to go.

I have the M/T sportsman S/R's and from a roll they dead hook and they are not a drag radial but hook good. They Like any other street tire in rain too They hook better then the nittos i had from a roll without even doing a burnout. I haven't tested these with a burnout and a launch yet.

Size chart

413whp best E/T on ET street radials was 116@118mph. This is on cold tire 26x10's 1st gear roll! With the nittos i had they wouldnt do this.

Well i'm just going off of what i see around here in SoCal. For a full slick the M&H & Hoosiers usually work great out here. Maybe it is a different type of street surface like someone said. ??

My best 60ft on nitto's was 1.9 and i had to launch easy and slip the clutch to get that! My best 60ft on M/T et streets radials is 1.6 dumping it hard so you tell me. Whoever said nittos hook better then M/T is on crack!

What does your suspension consist of? It all depends on suspension and road prep. A buddy of mine (Trigger on here) has left wheels up on our street, with a VHT prepped road, and a 255/60/15 M/T Drag Radial.

I ran both m/t and nitto's on street and M/T still better. Hell even my Non drag radial M/T hook better then nitto's did on street even with them cold. did you see the vid? Nitto's 555r's i would have spun more then that. My car has full stock shocks and struts with SFC, LCA's and relocation brackets thats it .
