replacing head gasket on 1995 3.4 Camaro
Wanted to know how hard is it to change out head Gasket on a 1995 3.4 Camaro? This is my Daily Driver and I think my head gasket is bad. I have 189,000 miles on the car. It has realy been good to me bought it new in 95 so I can not complain. But would like to see about getting it fix. Also what would I be looking at if I bring it to a shop?

There is nothing hard about working on a car. The only thing that will play into a factor is time. The amount of time is the biggest thing. The proper tools is also very important, good swivels work wonders cause alot of that motor is under the cowling. On a good day I think it may take some one 6 hours min. to properly take apart the upper intake, valve covers and untorque the heads.
Call the local dealership in your area and see if the intake and also the head bolts are torque to yeild bolts. i.e bolts that strech when torqed. Plus get a torque sheet and the torque pattern of the heads. Good torque wrench is needed in doing or you might find your self in there again very shorlty. You might want to think about replacing the other side while you are in there. If you can't get the dealer ship to give you this info shoot me a PM and I can get it to you.
You might if you haven't already get rid of the dex-cool coolant it will eat head gaskets.
Your back will be hurting after doing this job.
