Default Setting pinion angle

I was wondering the correct way to set the pinion angle.
Here is how I've been doing it.
Make sure rear is loaded and measure front yoke(out of tranny) then compare to rear yoke(out of rear)
So if front yoke is 0 degree's I'd set the rear yoke to -2-4 degree's and figure that will be the angle I want.
Is this correct??
