C5 M6 final drive ratio
I'm new to Vettes and was wondering what te final drive in the M6 C5 Vettes was. Did Chevy use the same ratio in all them like in the F body? The reason I ask is because I'm looking at a 2000 Vert and the dealer list the final drive ration as 2.73. Seems kinda steep for a Vette and I was wondering if they could have had those gears at all.

I thought so. I didn't take too much stock in what they said as they also said it had a Opti Spark Direct fire ignition system. I told the guy he was an idiot and had no idea what he was trying to sell. A saleman should either know more than the customer, or keep their mouth shut.

A c5 2000 convertible would have an a4 trans with a base 2.73 gear or optional 3.15 performance gear. If it was an m6 you got the 3.42's. Now when it comes to the c5 zo6 the ratio is a 3.42 just like other m6 vettes, but 1,2,3,5, and 6th gear have all been optimized for acceleration.
