Default plugs - Black ring on porcelain

LS1 coils, MSD wires.

Plugs have only been in the car for a few hundred miles and there is a very noticeable black ring at the base of the porcelain, just above the hex.

Is this in indication of a poorly insulating plug wire boot, or nothing to worry about ?

I like how the MSD wires fit, with the bendy boot. I cannot use straight boots, as my headers would foul.

135deg style angled boots would probably work, or 90's might work in some instances.

or are my MSD's fine ?
